Many of you are probably wondering if staying at home really makes a difference. I know you have probably been watching the news and it seems as though the experts and the president are saying different things. This can be confusing, so I have posted some information here that can be found online:
I found the graphs helpful to visualize the concept of controlling this virus by preventing the spread.
If you look at these graphs, you will notice that we seem to have adequate resources and small numbers of deaths compared with other states. For example, our projected peak of deaths per day (4/12) is behind New York for example (they are hoping their peak is tomorrow) and our number is low: 17 (NY is 878 deaths per day.)
Our total deaths: 155 by 8/1/2020 is also low compared with New York(15,618).
Now we don't have too much in common with New York, especially NYC, which is where most of this is happening. But we can also compare with other places that have smaller populations.
I think that we are doing well because we are taking things seriously. Thank you for doing your part!! Let's hope the numbers turn out to be lower than projected because we are all doing the right thing.
