Analysis: 9 states are testing enough to safely reopen
A Harvard-NPR analysis showed only nine US states -- Hawaii, Alaska, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, West Virginia, Oregon, Tennessee and North Dakota -- are reaching the COVID-19 testing minimums needed to ease social distancing restrictions and safely reopen by May 15. Over 40 states are reopening businesses, while the US has logged more than 1.2 million COVID-19 cases and almost 76,000 deaths.
